I’m an integrative counsellor, clinical sexologist, sex and relationship therapist and mindfulness teacher. as well as a researcher and author.

I worked as a screen translator before completing a Ph.D. in film, gender and queer theory (Liverpool Uni, 2006-11) and embarking on a career in academia.

But a period of illness led to a career re-think and I figured that what I learned about physical and mental health in my recovery could be of some use to others.

So I firstly retrained as a mindfulness teacher with Breathworks (2015-16) where I am now an Associate Teacher, teaching mindfulness-based approaches to living with stress, pain and illness and delivering workplace mindfulness.

I then trained as an integrative counsellor (Mary Ward Centre 2015-17; Metanoia Institute 2018-19), working as a health trainer and sexual health advisor to finance my studies.

More recently I’ve completed a specialist training in clinical sexology and psychosexual and relationship therapy (Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology 2020-22). In a way, I’ve gone full circle in that the issues I explored in my doctoral research are now the focus for much of my clinical work.

I’m still actively involved in research, most recently at the University of Sheffield where I led a pilot study into the therapeutic benefits of mindful walking in cities between 2016-18. And since 2018 I’ve developed and led a Public Health England funded mindfulness-based chemsex addiction recovery programme.

I’ve supported hundreds of individuals across my private practice and a range of organisations including the Terrence Higgins Trust, Smarkets, Breathworks, West London Centre for Counselling, The Camden Society, The Department of Work and Pensions, The University of Florida and Spectra where I was Clinical Lead for Mental Health (2019-21).

I’m registered with the College of Sex and Relationship Therapists, the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, Breathworks and the British Association of Mindfulness-Based Approaches and adhere to their ethical frameworks so you can be confident that you’re in safe hands.

If you’re ready to take the next step, I’d love to you to get in touch.
